Boys' Golf Team

Boys Golf 2016 Review

Under first-year coach Jim Poole, the boys’ golf team worked its way through a season marked by collective improvement as the players and coaches gained familiarity with each other. The team’s growth was best represented by a team score of 351 in the second tournament of the season at The Legends. In the sectional six weeks later on the same course, the team shot 313. Almost every player on the team shot a career-low round at some point in the season.

The squad finished fourth in the sectional. Senior Brayden Stegemiller shot a 78 to advance to the regional for the second straight year. Sophomore Drew Fleming also advanced to the regional, shooting a 74. Fleming’s round was a career-best after breaking 90 just once as a freshman. The team finished third in the Marion County Tournament. Senior Evan Wray, and sophomores Reese McGinsie and Logan Schott each shot 80 to finish in a tie for seventh.
