2012 Season Recap

The girls’ golf team entered the season looking to replace eight seniors from the 2011 team and finished the season reaching its goals of capturing the Marion County Tournament and sectional titles.  The Marion County title was the program’s fifth straight and the sectional crown was the program’s seventh straight.  Junior Abbey Gleixner captured both the sectional and regional medalist honors and won the individual title at the Marion County Tournament, as well.  She finished ninth in the state finals and earned All-State honors based on her state finish and season play for the second consecutive year.  Gleixner also set a new school record, shooting a five-under-par 67.  Sophomores Kristin Foresman and Samantha Fogg each joined Gleixner on the All-Marion County team.  Senior Brooke Lentz and Cassey Turk rounded out the county and sectional championship team and Turk was named the team’s Mental Attitude award winner.
