2012 Season Recap

Playing one of the more difficult schedules in the state, which included six teams ranked in the top 20, the boys’ tennis team finished with a 9-11 record.  The team was led by senior Joe Wolf, who played No. 1 singles and was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player.  Seniors Christian Alspach, Mark Johnson, Marcus Swift, Frederick Dowell and Austin Buschkoetter all contributed to the team’s success, as well as junior Jack Glander.  Alspach received the team’s Leadership award and Swift earned the Mental Attitude Award.  Buschkoetter collected the sportsmanship award.  Highlights of the season included a win over Evansville North at the Terre Haute South Invitational and a convincing 5-0 win over Cardinal Ritter.  Five different players were named to Academic All-State teams.  Wolf and Dowell were chose to the first team and Swift, Alspach and Johnson all were selected to the honorable mention team.
