2013 Season Review

The girls’ tennis team followed up on last year’s Marion County and sectional title with another sectional championship season.  Under first-year coach Amy Polizzi, the girls amassed a strong 12-6 record and won the ninth sectional title in program history and the seventh straight.  The girls shut out Beech Grove (5-0) and Franklin Central (5-0) to win the sectional.  They followed that up with a 4-1 win over Southport in the opening round of the regional before falling 3-2 in a tight match with Greenwood in the regional final.  One of the many highlights of the season was the 5-0 win over Franklin Central on Senior Night.  Lauren Webb earned team MVP honors, while Emily Cook earned the team’s Mental Attitude Award.  Webb earned All-Marion County honors, as did the doubles team of Alaina Sangalang and Ally Crouch.
