Girls Track 2015 Review

Sophomore Paige Saylor earned the girls’ track team MVP award and senior Halle Harris was named the team’s mental attitude award winner.  At the All-Catholic Championships, Harris competed in the 100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and the 4X100 meter relay and recorded a program all-time top five performance in each event.  One week after struggling through the Marion County Championships, the team rebounded at sectional, finishing third and just four points shy of second place.  In the sectional, the team qualified 15 girls in 10 events into the regional.  For the state finals, the team qualified two individuals and one relay team.  Saylor finished 14th in the long jump at the state finals, while junior Katie Carson finished 15th in the shot put with a personal-best throw and the third-farthest throw in program history.  The 4x100 relay team of Harris, Saylor and fellow sophomores Morgan Clarke and Maddison DeWitt ran its best time of the year (50.3 seconds) in the state finals and the second-fastest 4X100 relay time in program history.
