2012 Season Recap

The Roncalli volleyball team entered the 2012 season coming off the school’s first Class 4A Sectional title in any sport and needing to fill five new positions.  The early part of the season was spent working different players in different positions and finding the right fit for the team, before the hard work resulted in late season success.  The team finished the season with 16 wins but closed with a 9-4 record in its final 13 matches.  The late-season run included a third-place finish in a strong field at the LaPorte Tournament and a runner-up finish to Perry Meridian in the Marion County Tournament. Sophomore Bailey Schnell was named second team All-State and was a first team All-Marion County selection by the MCCGSA (Marion County Coaches of Girls’ Sports Association).   Junior Abbey Finch joined Schnell on the first-team All-County list.  Senior Hannah Bartram reached a milestone by totaling over 1,000 digs for her career.  Senior Cassie Annee was named first team Academic All-State and Bartram was named to the Academic All-State honorable mention team.
