Lunch is served!

First let us say how happy we are to get to see your students every day and make their lunch time as great as possible. Every employee on the cafeteria staff has a direct connection to Roncalli so they treat each of these kids like they are their own.

The students and staff at Roncalli have many ways to create a school lunch every day. There are four serving lines that offer school lunch and two serving lines that offer ala carte choices.

Red, White & Blue: The Choice is up to You!

The cost for a Rebel Lunch is $2.75. There is not an “entrée only” price this year. Lunch consists of 5 components: meat, bread, vegetable, fruit and milk. You must choose 3 of the components (one must be a fruit or a vegetable) to have your meal considered a lunch. Roncalli participates in the National School Lunch Program and in accordance with the program; we offer a variety of fruits and vegetables (both fresh and cooked) as well as whole grain breads and legumes/beans.

Creating a lunch is as easy as knowing your school colors. Take red, white and blue selections (all 3) and you know you have a lunch!

• Red choices are entrees: 17 choices are available every day with 20 or so other entrees in rotation
• White choice is 8 ounces of milk. We offer 1% or fat free white and fat free flavored milk. Orange juice is also available in the milk coolers and is choice.
• Blue choices are the vegetable and fruit sides.

For easy selection, choices will be marked on the line as red, white or blue.

New this year! Choices marked with blue stars are “super foods” and you may choose one serving of as many of these (blue choice) fruits and vegetables as you wish!

A La Carte Offerings

Not quite hungry enough for a whole lunch or need something to satisfy a sweet tooth? You may want to visit our ala carte room or snack bar.

Ala carte room daily favorites include Bosco Sticks, “real milk” milkshakes in 9 Flavorburst flavors, and bagels and cheese. Crispitos, mini corndogs and buffalo poppers are other favorites offered weekly on a rotating basis.

The snack bar features: hot pretzels with cheese, PB&J Uncrustables, baked chips, ice cream novelties, pint milk jugs, canned juices and Snapple diet teas.

It’s Mealtime!

While we do accept cash as payment in the cafeteria, we encourage everyone to use their Mealtime account. Mealtime is a point of sale system in which your account can be “loaded” with money and used as needed to purchase food in the cafeteria at lunch and before and after school.

All students, faculty and staff at Roncalli have a Mealtime school lunch account. For students, this number is their six-digit student ID number. This number is entered on a keypad at the cashier station.

Checks or cash for deposit into your Mealtime account may be dropped off in the main office in the “lunch money” mailbox. (Be sure to include the student’s name or ID number.)

Deposits may also be made with the cashiers at lunchtime. Online deposits are possible at www.mymealtime.com. You will be asked to create a student profile with a username and password. Upon doing so, you will then be able to add money, track purchases and receive low balance warnings. There is a 4.9% user fee to deposit money online but deposits of over $100 will have the fee credited back to the child’s balance. When you make an on-line deposit and your student has a negative balance, the deposit needs to bring the account up to $100.00 for the fee to be credited to the account.

Free & Reduced Lunch Application

Because we participate in the National School Lunch Program we are able to provide free and reduced price (.40) lunches to students who qualify. Please know that that participation is confidential and students access this benefit by using their Meal Time account just like everyone else.
